JSOUL x B.Jamelle Wonder If It Could Be 'Really Love'

Producer JSOUL can do it all. He flexes on everything from soul music to boom-bap and does everything with ease. For his next musical feat, the Baltimore native has teamed up with D.C.-bred singer-songwriter B.Jamelle for a new bop entitled “Really Love" featuring Staten Island rapper Jamil Honesty.

The track opens with soulful horns and a sickening bassline, propelling the listener into their meanest two-step. The first voice you hear is Honesty who effortlessly rides the beat as he gives thanks and shows intention for the love he’s found. He shouts out both biblical and fictional unions as the blueprint for the vibe and foundation he hopes to cultivate before B.Jamelle offers her own silky take.

B.Jamelle's tone is sublime as she sings of a potential love so magical and in sync that it defies language and is often misunderstood. Before closing the track with jazzy ad-libs, she sings, “We say our dreams so they are / Up under trees, over stars / Ain’t no need for speaking / People really feel we’re bizarre / They’ve never seen it like ours / The healer of all ails, this real, real love.”

This love offering is the lead single from JSOUL x B.Jamelle’s forthcoming collaborative EP entitled Mellowdisiac. While there’s no official release date for the full project, we can look forward to more lush vibes and thoughtful lyrics from this collaborative union. In the meantime, lose yourself in “Really Love” featuring Jamil Honesty below and add the track to your collection from your preferred digital platform.
