CD Enterprises, Inc. will present the 2022 Summer Spirit Festival at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD on Sunday, August 7th. This is the 15-year anniversary of this event, and after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, music fans in the DMV will be anxious to attend this year.

This year’s lineup feels like a reunion with many previous acts returning and promises a little something for everybody with a nice mix of R&B, soul, hip-hop and go-go acts. The one and only Erykah Badu is set to return as the headliner, after last closing the Summer Spirit Festival in 2018. The good brother Anthony Hamilton will also return to the SSF stage to bring his special brand of southern soul to the stage after headlining in 2019

Hip-hop will be well represented this year with the legendary duo of Method Man and Redman taking the stage. This will also be a return engagement to the Summer Spirit Festival for the friends and frequent collaborators who previously ripped 2018's festival

Singer-songwriter Marsha Ambrosius, formerly of the GRAMMY-nominated duo Floetry who performed at the festival in 2015, is also scheduled to perform. Expect Ambrosius to sing selections from her solo catalog and beloved Floetry faves.

Fans of Washington D.C.'s go-go sound will be happy to hear that the legendary Junkyard Band (or simply JYB as they are affectionately known) has also been invited back for this year's Summer Spirit Festival festivities. The band is guaranteed to have the Merriweather Post Pavilion crankin'.

Rising R&B singer J. Brown will perform at his first Summer Spirit Festival and with his string of smooth and soulful singles, he is sure to leave with more fans than he comes with after they hear him croon.

The 2022 Summer Spirit Festival promises to be big fun for D.C. and Baltimore-area music lovers and out-of-towners who decide to venture to the festival. Tickets go on sale on Friday, April 8th, at 10 am online at Ticketmaster. Don’t wait too long to secure your ticket because the festival will surely sell out quickly.
