Two years away for a relatively new music festival might have meant the end before things really got a chance to take off, but not for Sol Blume. After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, Sol Blume 2022 returns to Sacramento, California for its third music festival and even expands from one day to two and to a bigger location. The festival will be held on Saturday, April 30th and Sunday, May 1st at the 302-acre Discovery Park in downtown Sactown.
Co-founders Fornati Kumeh and Justin Nordan created Sol Blume in 2018 to provide an opportunity for Sacramento R&B, soul and hip-hop fans to have the opportunity to see their favorite artists perform. In terms of live music, Sacramento has primarily been a rock and roll town, but Kumeh and Nordan set out to change that. By the look of this year’s stacked lineup of established and up-and-coming artists, they are well on their way to making Sol Blume an event that major artists and fans want to be part of.
Specific schedules for both days are still to be determined, but the Day 1 lineup headliners will be Jorja Smith and PARTYNEXTDOOR. A slew of artists are scheduled to perform on Saturday, including Alina Baraz, Majid Jordan, SiR, Lucky Daye, Kiana Ledé, dvsn, Sinead Harnett, D Smoke, KIRBY, Tiana Major9 and more. DJs Kitty Ca$h and ESTA. will be on hand to move the crowd between sets.
The Day 2 lineup is equally as impressive and will be anchored by Jhené Aiko and Summer Walker. Additional artists scheduled to take the stage that Sunday include Thundercat, Syd, Tinashe, Victoria Monét, Tink, Joyce Wrice, Jenevieve, LONR., Maeta, Loony and others. With close to 40 artists scheduled to perform, Sol Blume 2022 promises to be a memorable event for all the R&B, soul and hip-hop fans who will be in attendance.
