If there's one thing Mary J. Blige is gonna do, it's be an advocate for women. She's done it throughout her career with her music, and now she's taking things a step further with the surprise announcement of a special event created for women by women. Mary J. Blige and title sponsor Pepsi present the Strength Of A Woman Festival & Summit in Atlanta, Georgia this May with a weekend full of music and activities planned to empower, educate and elevate women.
Still basking in the afterglow of the release of her latest album Good Morning Gorgeous last month, Mary reached back to her 2017 album Strength Of A Woman to entitle this endeavor. The inaugural Strength Of A Woman Festival & Summit will feature concerts, workshops and activations focusing on music, wellness, tech, beauty and financial literacy in the spirit of sisterhood.
The crowning jewel of the weekend will be a concert at State Farm Arena with Mary J. headlining and Chaka Khan, Xscape and Omeretta The Great all performing. Those aren't the only women who'll be lending their talents to the festival and summit, however. Also scheduled to appear are R&B darlings Ella Mai, Queen Naija, Kiana Ledé, Sevyn Streeter and Inayah, in addition to rappers City Girls and Rubi Rose and gospel divas Kierra Sheard and Le'Andria Johnson, to name a few.
Mary J. Blige's Strength Of A Woman Festival & Summit will take place during Mother's Day weekend from Friday, May 6th through Sunday, May 8th. The event is presented in partnership with Live Nation Urban and tickets go on presale on Tuesday, March 8th at 10 am EST and general sale on Thursday, March 10th at 10 EST. Stay in the loop on the festival's website, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and TikTok.
