As K. Michelle preps the release of her sixth studio album, I'm The Problem, she continues its rollout with the music video for the lead single "Scooch." To bring the song to life, she enlists the talents of celebrity photographer/director Derek Blanks.
Blanks' camera never misses, and he hooks K. Michelle up with a visual that showcases her beauty and style. The pair last worked together on the video for her 2019 single "Supahood," and he's photographed her numerous times over the years, so they have built-in chemistry.
K. Michelle is quite comfortable in front of Blanks' camera in the "Scooch" video. It opens with the sassy singer emerging from inside of a heart-shaped music box sitting on a dresser surrounded by beauty products. This definitely ain't your mama's music box with a tired plastic ballerina twirling in circles, though. K. is accompanied by two dancers dressed in pink who move to her groove as they all revolve around.
When she's not singing and dancing inside the music box, Michelle serves up looks for days in separate scenes while her fashions and hairstyles change in the blink of an eye. She also scribbles some of the lyrics on-screen in a cool visual effect. The video ends with K. finally spending some quality time with the tall, strapping fella she's trying to "Scooch" closer to and slow dancing the night away.
While we wait for more news about K. Michelle's forthcoming album and the three additional singles she plans on dropping, give the "Scooch" video a twirl right here. For even more K. Michelle, the Queen of Reality TV and her long-time partner Dr. Kastan Sims will be seen on the new season Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition, which premieres on WE tv on Thursday, March 31st.
