We are but a week away from Hiatus Kaiyote releasing Mood Variant, the remix album featuring reimagined versions of songs from last year's Mood Valiant. The crew already previewed the upcoming set with remixes of "Get Sun" and "Red Room" that had us anticipating what's to come. Now they give us even more reason to be excited with remixes of "Chivalry Is Not Dead" and "Bone And Marrow."

"Chivalry Is Not Dead" gets its remix from producer Salami Rose Joe Louis. The song, which was already a heady ride, gets even headier in this new version. Salami Rose Joe Louis flips Nai Palm's vocal (along with what sounds like a new vocal done for this remix) and integrates it with percolating programmed drums and glitchy synth work. He then lets it coast along that groove before transcending into oblivion in the song's final seconds, taking us further into musical bliss.

Producer extraordinaire Stro Elliot takes over for "Blood And Marrow." One of the quieter songs on Mood Valiant, the original version featured minimal production wrapped around its poetic lyrics. Stro adds a bit more into the mix, infusing it with rolling drums and jangly rhythm. Midway through, he then switches that vibe up, getting a bit more electronic as he drops in synth and a few more elements to give us a varied sound experience.

The new remixes released so far are enough reason to cop Mood Variant when it arrives on April 8th. Knowing that there are even more in store means that this project will be a must-have. Listen both of the new Hiatus Kaiyote remixes when you press play.
