Serayah has been relatively quiet on the music front since the start of the pandemic. We last heard from her back in January 2020 when she dropped her single "Mr. Lover." The singer/actress hasn't forsaken us, though. In fact, we should prepare to hear much more from her as she prepares to release her debut album in the near future. But first, she offers up her latest single "P.O.V." to get us ready for what's to come.

She turns to producer OG Parker, who's worked with the likes of PARTYNEXTDOOR, to help craft the single's groove. He laces her with a smooth number that has a bit of bump to it. It's also perfect for the singer to go into introspective mode as she contemplates a few things in the song's three-minute length. "What's more important? / The money or the pain? / The message or the name? The blessing or the blame?" she questions. "What is the focus?"

Also working its way into the equation is love, both familial and romantic, as she comes to a conclusion on the chorus, singing, "When it's me versus you / The damage is already done / 'Cuz when the family feuds / We both lose things we really want / What's a girl to do?" The song then comes to a close with a spoken word piece by Queen that sums up the song's themes while also speaking to the growth that needs to happen to overcome generational curses.

"P.O.V." is just the beginning for this next chapter in Serayah's career. "Music has always been one of my first loves, and I’m so excited to share with everyone the body of work that I’ve been working on. It’s about time," she said in a press release.
