Robert Glasper is in the home stretch before the release of his anticipated album Black Radio III. That, of course, means that the musician/producer is in promotion mode for the project. He's already logged screen time with an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Now he's booked time on yet another late-night program with his recent appearance on the Trevor Noah-starring The Daily Show.
Robert was there for a jovial interview with Trevor during which they talked about all things music, including how the musician spent his teenage years making bank while playing for local churches. Of course, he couldn't stop by without hooking them up with a performance, and Glasper happily obliged.
He and his band jammed out with singer Ant Clemons for the debut of the new song "Heaven's Here." The song is a jazzy groove that lets a lover know that she doesn't have to look anywhere else to find her slice of heaven. It's full of Robert's signature dreamy chords working for it, and Ant Clemons further sells it with an energetic performance that gets the song's passion across.
Black Radio III is scheduled to take over our personal airwaves on Friday, February 25th. Watch Robert Glasper, Ant Clemons and the band bring it on The Daily Show With Trevor Noah when you press play. After that, stick around to watch the insightful interview between Robert and Trevor.
