Maxwell has been all over our television screens this week. The night of Valentine's Day on Monday, he sang all the lovers a lullaby during a performance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert of his single "OFF." Then on Wednesday, the sexy crooner woke us up on Hump Day with an appearance on Good Morning America for a quick interview with co-host Michael Strahan and another "OFF" performance.
During the interview, Strahan asked the three-time GRAMMY Award winner about his forthcoming album blacksummers'NIGHT, the conclusion to the trilogy that Maxwell began 13 long years ago. When asked if he felt any pressure to replicate the success of the first two albums, Max answered, "Yes, there's always pressure, but you're grateful. This is what I get to do, I get to do this as the dream. So I can't wait to release it, and I hope everyone loves it."
Maxwell was all smiles as he went on to discuss The Night Tour and his excitement to get back on the road, and "bring a little love, bring a little joy, a little R&B, a little soul," back into his fans' lives after the past couple years we've had. He went on to bring viewers some morning joy and sultry soul with a live performance of "OFF" that was an entire mood.
Dressed in an off-white suit adorned with mirrors, Max was giving fashion and looking fine as ever as he sang the single. Filmed on a dark set lit by sparse lighting that provided a warm glow and dramatic shadows, the scene was stunning and matched the intensity of his impressive performance.
While we wait to see where else Maxwell pops up on this promo run, we are as excited as he is for the start of The Night Tour in a couple of weeks with Anthony Hamilton and Joe along for the ride. Having seen all three artists live numerous times, we can attest to the fact that this concert tour is one that is not to be missed. Watch Maxwell in action on GMA below to see what we mean and get a sneak peek.
