Lucky Daye continues to rollout new singles as he readies the release of his upcoming album CANDYDRIP. The singer, who took the stage alongside Musiq Soulchild during his recent VERZUZ battle, has blessed us with two songs from the upcoming album — "Over" and the title track. Now Lucky is back at it again, this time collaborating with rapper Lil Durk for the set's third release, "NWA."
"NWA" takes a different approach from the previous tracks in that it doesn't directly deal with romance. Instead, Lucky is talking his ish, feeling himself and ready to get lit. "I got packs, I got packs, I’m dreamin’ / Tell my car I don’t see no evil," he sings about cruising around the city on the late-night tip. "Where we goin’? You can’t make me sign, woah / Tell my dawgs we won’t waste no time, yeah."
The swagger he's feeling is carried on by Durk, who drops in for quick sixteen in which he mentions the bad chicks he's bagging, the big stacks he's stacking and what type of time he's on while the beat percolates along in similar fashion to Drake's "Hotline Bling."
CANDYDRIP is expected to arrive next month. In addition to the album's release, Lucky Daye will also be embarking on the CANDYDRIP Tour that month, which kicks off with a show in Portland on March 18.
