Tank And The Bangas always have a jam or two up their sleeves (just look at their last single "Big" if you don't believe us). As a matter of fact, it seems as if the New Orleans-based crew has a whole album's worth ready to go. They recently announced that their new album, Red Balloon, will be arriving soon and are ushering in its upcoming arrival with new single "No ID."
"No ID" finds Tank And The Bangas channeling '80s boogie vibes as singer Tarriona "Tank" Ball lays down the requirements to get to know her a little better. "If you wanna see inside of me (ID ID ID) / I'ma need to see your ID (ID ID ID)," they sing on the chorus. "'Cause if we gon' go deeper / I'ma need to see what's beneath the / Surface of your smile and if you're worth staying a while." Underscoring these matter-of-fact lyrics is a solid groove composed of a slick bass line, synths and horns that keep this party going.
In the song's video, we're taken to a throwback warehouse party in their native NOLA that features plenty of glitter, roller skates and good vibes. The Bangas revel in all the good times along with their friends, painting a picture of a good time that we all wish we could've witnessed in real time.
"No ID" will be among the many choice cuts featured on Red Balloon, which will pop up on the scene on May 15th. Jam to their latest when you give the song and video some play below.
