As he prepares for the release of his forthcoming album Lush Life, British singer-songwriter Col3trane teams up with one of today’s heaviest hitters in R&B. “Bag” features the one and only Lucky Daye and tells that tale of a man at his wits end trying to gain the interest of his crush. It seems all the gifts and quality time haven’t yet tapped into her true love language, and he’s about to give up. The talented duo take turns airing their grievances over a groove so smooth one can almost ignore the track's overarching theme of frustration and heartbreak.
This latest single was released in conjunction with a campaign with handbag designer Brandon Blackwood and follows his previous single “Californication (Feels Like I'm Falling In Love),” which dropped last fall. The track continues to set the tone for his forthcoming album, though its creation was a bit of a labor of love. Originally written in 2020, Col3trane reveals that he kept it in the tuck for a while. Alongside producer Camper, multiple versions were made before he saw fit to share the final version with the world. Though it took a moment for this track to see the light of day, fans can rest assured that his new album is “done and delivered,” as indicated via a recent Instagram post.
