Bren Joy & Kiana Ledé Agree That They Can't Be 'Friends'

We’ve probably all been there – when a romantic connection starts to fizzle, but you’ve convinced yourself that the foundation of friendship can be maintained. Though this may be true for a while, whether it's due to old grudges or new love interests, the platonic base begins to crumble bit by bit. On his new single “Friends,” it seems singer-songwriter Bren Joy’s post-relationship entanglement has reached its breaking point. Sultry songstress Kiana Ledé joins him on the melancholy track, and they both agree it's time to go their separate ways.

This latest Noise Club-produced release follows Bren’s sultry summer anthem "Headline," which dropped back in July. Since then he’s been showcasing his talent on stage and making his rounds as part of Pink $weats’ Pink Moon Tour.  The tour continues its journey across the south before making its final stop December 16th in Dallas, Texas. Perhaps “Friends” is simply a preview to more music on the way and foreshadows a follow-up to the deluxe edition of his 2019 EP, Twenties.
