Jazmine Sullivan has been that girl ever since dropping her Heaux Tales at the top of the year. With the singer a guaranteed lock for awards season, she seems to be popping up all over the place these days. That includes on the soundtrack for the new Netflix animated series Arcane (which is a spinoff of the video game League Of Legends). The songstress joins forces with fellow singer Curtis Harding for the soulful song "Our Love."
"Our Love" finds the pair channeling '60s soul with a sound that sounds like it belongs on a Motown chart-topper. Its tight arrangement of strings, horns and guitar (not to mention a melodic line quite similar to "My Girl") definitely evoke the era and the vocal performances from both sell it. Curtis begins the track crooning sweetly about the love he has for his lady, letting it be known that their hearts are entwined as one. Jazmine, meanwhile, jumps in to express her hope that their love stays pure and how secure he makes her feel. The twosome together definitely remind us of classic duet partners, as their voices work well together while conveying an emotion that can be felt in any era.
