Hiatus Kaiyote Finds Their Trippy Light In 'As We Go Gentle' & Announce European Tour

Hiatus Kaiyote has always given creative visuals, but the Australian band has been outdoing themselves for their latest effort Mood Valiant. So far, we've gotten eye-popping clips for singles "Get Sun," "Red Room" and "Chivalry Is Not Dead." They're not done being delightfully weird, though, as they offer another visual spectacle with the video for "And We Go Gentle."

The video takes its premise from the song's constant refrain, "Tell me can I get a light." They take it into a completely unexpected direction, however. We see the lonely journey of a moth (played by an extravagantly costumed Nai Palm) as she makes her way through a city looking for the light that she craves. She starts in a chandelier store but is quickly chased away and shooed into the street. From there, she stumbles into a bar, where it seems she might've found what she's looking for. She sadly meets the same fate as the chandelier spot, getting swatted and then pushed out into the night. Eventually, she wanders into a candlelit room where she finally finds what she's been looking for: a dancing lamp that's moving to the same groove.

The trippy visual accompanies news that Hiatus Kaiyote will hit the road next year, starting with European tour dates in Fall 2022. Kicking off in Berlin next September, the band plans to hit several cities through October, including Berlin, Paris, London, Manchester and Barcelona. The band has also promised that they'll be announcing more dates soon, including in the US and Japan. While you patiently wait for those, check out the video for "And We Go Gentle" and the European dates right here.
