When we last heard from Dutch-South African singer Joya Mooi, she was giving us her lovely brand of soul with her single "Remember." She didn't make us wait long for what she had next though. She's already back on the block, this time coming at us to celebrate the importance of friendship with the release of her latest single "My Favourite."

Joya once again looks to producers Sim Fane and SIROJ for this track and they give a groove that feels as smooth as early 2000s neo-soul and mix it with some Kaytranada-like spice. There is where Joya comes comes alive with sentimental lyrics dedicated to kinship developed between good friends. "No need to say anything, I can already guess / This kinship is going to save, and has saved me in the past," she sings. "Good looking out for my fragile, my hands crossed my heart / For the first, second, third most / Can I show you some love?" The love she's sharing is also felt in the song's video. In it, she gathers her crew to move to the song's infectious beat she poses it up in front of the camera and shows off her radiant beauty.

"I wanted to create a playful track that captures the spirit of my community and celebrates my closest friends," the songstress said about the song. "Especially during these times, meaningful friendships are so essential when things get rough. Can’t thank them enough, for the love and joy they bring. And it was so fun to invite my friends and my bandmates for the video we created for 'My Favourite.'"
