Bounce-Worthy alum Charlotte Dos Santos continually impresses every time she steps behind a mic. So, though it's only been just over a year since she released her EP Harvest Time, you can understand why we're already anxious to get new music from her. Luckily, she's ready to give us some more with her newest single "Away From You" and its sexy video.
"Away From You" is a hopelessly romantic ditty about falling for someone and wanting them near. The song's meaning is made clear the moment she gets into the breathless chorus, singing, "You're the only one I'm needing / The only one I'm feeling / Can't you see it? / You keep me breathing / Like an IOS cellphone / You're the one that I can call home / I don't ever want to be alone / Be alone or away from you." The loving lyrics definitely draw you in, but it's the soft strings and syncopated rhythm of the song that help keep the mid-tempo cut on your mind.
In the song's visual, she keeps the vibe going while adding an unexpected sex appeal to the proceedings. In a dimly lit, slightly industrial setting, Charlotte and her crew of dancers don slinky outfits that mix Baroque fashion with the body positive (and baring) styles of today. They also dance and splash around the waterlogged set as the singer sells the song's sentiment.
