Jenevieve served us some round the way girl swag on her single “Baby Powder,” which became an unexpected viral hit. Now she’s giving us something a little more grown, a little more sexy and a lot more vibey on her new single “Eternal.”
“Eternal” finds Jenevieve trying to stake her claim on her next boo. But no matter how much she thinks she’s found forever, she laments that “Colors are fadin’ and buildings are fallin’,” and her perfect boo might be out of touch. Produced by frequent collaborator Jean Benz, “Eternal” has a sparse yet lush feel that marries well to Jen’s own buttery-soft vocals.
The video for “Eternal” does a great job of capturing the vibe of the song in a simple, abstract way. The David Camarena-directed visual starts with Jenevieve looking at her reflection in a mirror surrounded by flowers and butterflies flitting about. From there, we follow her on a late-night jaunt through downtown Los Angeles. We see her everywhere from rooftops to the streets and an empty movie theater serving up sporty looks and body rolls.
“Eternal” is the third single from Jenevieve, following up “Medallion” and the aforementioned “Baby Powder.” With each subsequent release from her upcoming project besting the other, we fully expect Jenevieve to have big things in store in the future.
