Kelly Price Is Thankful For God's 'GRACE' On New EP

For those who were raised in the church, Proverbs 22:6 is an all-too-familiar verse: "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." In essence, it just means that regardless of the path you choose in life, you'll always remember your spiritual roots. This is why many secular artists willingly accept the opportunity to crossover into gospel, whether it be for a guest feature, a one-off song/project or something more...eternal. Following her 2006 foray into Christian music with This Is Who I Am, Kelly Price is back on the gospel train with her new EP entitled, GRACE.

Upon first listen, we're thinking maybe she needs to consider a permanent crossover because this really is who she is. From the exuberant lead single "Dance Party," to the heartfelt title track, to a smoothed-out revival of Alicia Myers' classic, "I Want to Thank You," Ms. Price is clearly at home when she first gives honor to God who is the head of her life. While slick production, infectious beats and poignant rhymes by Jon Connor and 901$outh ("What I Need - A Sinner's Prayer Remix") lend a contemporary edge to the project, Kelly proves that the ole time religion is still good enough for us with a stirring rendition of "Faith That Conquers."

Recording GRACE helped Price through one of the toughest years of her life, having lost both her grandfather and her mother in 2020. Hear how she turned her pressure into praise by downloading a copy of the album. Afterwards, shake the devil off and be inspired as you move along to the "Dance Party" visuals below.
