ROE Is Trying To Be Your 'Baby'

Quick, what do Chloe x HalleMary J. BligeNormaniTeyana Taylor, Usher and a slew of other artists have in common? They've all been blessed by the pen of ROE. The singer-songwriter is looking to make her way from behind the scenes to in front of the stage, dropping her debut single "I Like" back in August and releasing two others since. However, her latest single "Baby" might just be the one.

"Baby" picks up on the spring-summer vibes we're starting to feel now that the weather is getting warmer. Warm synths float along the surface of the song to set the mood while a synth bass and programmed drums give the song a chilled-out bounce to two-step to. That leaves enough room for ROE to step on the scene as she makes a case to be your boo. "You say ain't nobody else gon' get me higher than you get / Nobody else know how to ring my bells / You say you're different and you're nothing like those players I been with / If I say yes, I'ma need you to myself," she sings. She then goes on to interpolate Smokey Robinson's "Cruising" as she lets her beau know that if he wants her, he's got her forever.

It clear that "Baby" is a straight-up jam and exactly the kind of cut we need as spring arrives ahead of a summer that, if folks play their cards right, could be an epic one. If you're new to ROE, get better acquainted with her talents when you listen to "Baby" below.
