Body Language Returns To Us With 'Boomerang'

Body Language is a name we haven't seen in a while, but it seems the quartet has been pretty busy as of late. How busy, you ask? Well, they've released two singles this month — "Perfection" and "Whenever I Think Of You" — ahead of the October release of their newest album Travel Guide. Before September is up, they're coming through with the hat trick and dropping off the album's third single "Boomerang."

Pressing play on "Boomerang," you'll automatically notice a slight tweak to their style. R&B is even deeper in the mix this go 'round, but their freaking it with a dancefloor-ready edge for the song. Built over a kick-drum bump, elastic synth bass worthy of Kaytranada, woozy synth chords and lots of reverb, "Boomerang" is just what the doctor ordered to keep the residual summer heat burning well into the fall. Unsurprisingly, the song is about a love that keeps coming back around no matter how much things change. "You'll be my boomerang / Sooner than you think / Sooner than you think," singer Angelica Bess coos on the chorus. "Without me you would sink, would sink / So you turn back." The chopped vocal of the chorus and the song's uneasy sway make it a jam that we definitely don't mind running back again and again.

Travel Guide promises to return the eclectic sound of Body Language back to our speakers when it arrives. Check out "Boomerang" below and pre-order the album via Bandcamp ahead of its October 9th release.
