Jordin Sparks Aims To Quench Our Thirst With 'Red Sangria'

Jordin Sparks isn't letting something like a global pandemic slow down her shine. The singer is continuing to step back into the spotlight after dropping her single "Unknown" back in June. After giving us a taste of what she can do on a ballad, she's back to shed her inhibitions and have a little fun with her radio-friendly new single "Red Sangria."

"Red Sangria" finds Jordin turning up the tempo for a fun number that would work well for radio. It also shows just how deservedly cocky she can be (after all, she has topped the charts several times). In fact, she reminds us of that fact on the song's bridge, singing, "You can talk all you want / But I'm still on your playlist / You can't breathe with no air / Yeah, you been suffocating." All that braggadocio is backed a heavy kick, snapping snares and warm and bouncy synths that land the sound of things squarely in the pop/R&B realm.

The song's video — which was shot in compliance with California's COVID protocols — features Jordin going out for the night with her girls (including singer Amber Riley and grown-ish star Francia Raisa). Once the ladies make it to their destination, the party officially gets poppin' with choreographed dance routines and fine fellas. The one that happens to catch Jordin's eye happens to be her real-life hubby Dana Isaiah and the two flirt and canoodle the night away while things move from the party to the after-party at the pool.

"Red Sangria" is said to be the lead single from the singer's as-yet-untitled fourth solo album. That means that we can expect to see a lot more of Jordin Sparks in the coming months. Toast it up to the star's return by checking out both the single and its fun video right here.
