Doja Cat & Gucci Mane Take Us On Intergalactic Adventure In 'Like That'

Singer, rapper, songwriter and part-time cartoon character, Doja Cat has experienced major highs and lows this year. After scoring a No. 1 single, the “Moo” singer was caught up in drama, drama and more drama for alleged anti-Black comments and songs, stripping online for white supremacist incels, issues with her mixed heritage and other egregious actions that could only happen in 2020. But, the singer has apologized, set the record straight and is ready to move on to promote her new single “Like That” featuring Gucci Mane.

“Like That,” produced by Tyson Traxx and Mike Crook, is a standout cut from Doja Cat’s album Hot Pink and is poised to be a summer jam. The bouncy, synth-heavy track is a fun little ditty about really feeling in love with someone. Gucci Mane, or as he calls himself on the track, “Gucci El Dorado,” lays out his credentials as being the n***a every chick wants to be with.

The video for “Like That” is a return to visual form for Doja. In the clip, Cat and her dancers all matching in white outfits make their butts jiggle and wiggle against fluorescent-lit backgrounds with stars and planets hanging overhead. Their moves are complemented by a few animated hearts, stars, clovers and blue moons. Doja becomes a literal anime character, a la Sailor Moon, wielding her mighty moon staff while shaking that ass. Gucci Mane shows up on set with his bedazzled jewelry that creates its own special effects with no animation needed. He delivers his verse while leaning against a drop-top Aston Martin as Doja twerks in the background. The video ends with Doja Cat busting some smooth moves in front of the luxury whip before hitting an impressive split.
