Thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, most people have been directed to stay at home until further notice. While many adjust to this new normal of being in the house 24/7, being on lockdown has its benefits, especially if you are sheltered in place with a quarantine bae. For all the quarantined lovers who light up, R&B/soul singer Blakk Soul has a new song to immediately add to your playlists with his latest single “Smoke N Chill,” and we’re giving you an exclusive first listen with a SoulBounce world premiere.
As its title suggests, “Smoke N Chill” is about vibing out and getting cozy with canna. “Too much in your head don’t trip / You ain’t got to second guess / Let the pre-roll hit your lips,” Blakk Soul sings to his lady on the first verse. He continues setting the scene for sticky icky seduction on the second verse. “Couple little puffs of the OG got you right / Merlot or Sweet Red, whatever you like / We can chill and watch a movie / Chilling always makes it juicy.”
Blakk Soul linked up with producer DrewsThatDude who laced the track with a ’90s R&B-meets-trap soul sound. “Smoke N Chill” is a song that would feel at home on a mix next to Jodeci or Bryson Tiller. Blakk’s soulful, earnest delivery will definitely put you at ease and make you want to take him up on his indo invitation. “‘Smoke N Chill’ is a vibe I’m sure most can relate to,” Blakk Soul shared with us about the song. “Sometimes a good stress reliever and some good company is all you need to take the edge off.” During these stressful times, this song is right on time.
“Smoke N Chill” follows lead single “Help” featuring Joell Ortiz and will also have a home on Blakk Soul’s forthcoming album Take Your Time, which will be released on May 8th via Mello Music Group. The album is currently available for pre-order and pre-save on various digital music platforms. In the meantime, Mello Music Group is offering up “Smoke N Chill” as a free download on Bandcamp.
