Tom Misch & Yussef Dayes Prepare To 'Lift Off' Ahead Of Album Release & Tour

As we all hunker down in place and try to stay safe from the 'Rona, what better way to soothe our collective nerves than with good music. Tom Misch and Yussef Dayes deliver some music for our souls with their latest single, "Lift Off," taken from their upcoming joint album, What Kinda Music.

On the duo's latest single, they link up with Rocco Palladino (following in the footsteps of his legendary bassist father, Pino Palladino) for one groovy ride. Fueled by Dayes' syncopated drumming, Misch and Palladino utilize their instruments to create a warm and languid vibe. The track's accompanying video directed by Douglas Bernardt is actually taken from the song's actual live recording and features the trio doing what they do best as a set of dancers move in time in the background.

"Lift Off" is the follow-up single to the album's title track, which was released in February. What Kinda Music, which is set to drop April 24th via Blue Note Records and is currently available for pre-order and features guest spots from Palladino, Freddie Gibbs and Kaidi Akinnibi. Barring no cancelations due to the current Coronavirus pandemic, Misch and Dayes will be embarking on a promotional European tour in May that will take them to Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam and England. See below for the possible dates and be sure to check out the smooth sounds these guys have created.
