Full Crate Links Up With Latanya Alberto & Uhmeer To Help Us 'Getaway'

As much of the world enters the second week in lockdown mode due to COVID-19, music has provided a much-needed escape for many of us. Spinners like DJ D-Nice9th WonderQuestlove and many more have helped take our minds off the world's troubles. At a time when many of us would love nothing more than to head out of town (or least beyond the confines of home), Full Crate returns with a new single that instantly transports us on a musical "Getaway."

Joined by fellow Dutch singer Latanya Alberto and American rapper Uhmeer, Full Crate crafts a lighthearted tune that captures the carefree vibes that often accompany the heady feeling of new love. "You can be my getaway / I'm just trying to get away / From all the things in life I've been through," he and Alberto sing in unison. The song captures how finding love with the right person can often provide a welcome respite from when life gets hard. While we're sure they had a totally different meaning in mind when they first recorded the song, the lyrics hit completely different given the current state of the world.

The accompanying video gives viewers a peek into the recording studio as Full Crate, Alberto and Uhmeer are seen both recording the track and grooving along to the sounds they were creating. Just in case you forgot just how talented Full Crate is, the video also serves as a reminder as we see him handling vocal duties and playing multiple instruments.

"Getaway" is just the latest single to come from the Dutch producer who last blessed us with new sounds in February with "I'm Trying." As we continue to navigate these uncertain times, one thing that can help keep us grounded is good music. And while we can't physically head out on vacation, we can at least lean on this new vibe to help us "Getaway" in our minds.
