When Alex Isley and Jack Dine surprised us with Wilton late last year, it was love at first listen. The unexpected project centered on the highs and lows of relationships and the collaboration turned out to be one of the year's best. Lucky for us, it turns out that the duo has more new music in store for 2020, starting with their latest single, "Gone."
The track follows the thematic footprints of Wilton closer "There Was Love" with a gorgeous, lovelorn ballad. "You be chillin' / Laid all the way back / So casual / Unintentional," Alex laments as her breezy vocals float over Jack's balmy synth arrangement. It seems her partner intends to keep running in and out of her life, but she's done with his nonchalance, declaring, "Carefree is cool, but not at my expense." Even in this tale of love gone cold, the twosome's musical chemistry is straight fire.
Head to your favorite retailer to download a copy of "Gone" right now. While we wait for their next collaboration, Ms. Isley can also be heard acoustically slaying on PJ Morton's The Piano Album while Mr. Dine works his production magic on Christian Kuria's Borderline EP. You can also keep up with both Alex and Jack via Instagram or Twitter to see what's next for each of them.
