The Bible tells us that "Love is patient, love is kind," in 1 Corinthians 13, and Jon Bibbs expresses that sentiment in his new single "Love In Waiting." The singer-songwriter returns with a song about taking your time to build a lasting, loving relationship, and SoulBounce is pleased to share it in our first exclusive world premiere of 2020.
Accompanying Jon Bibbs on "Love In Waiting" are Dwele, who appears in a rare instrumental performance and horn arrangement, and saxophonist Saxappeal. They set a smooth and groovy mid-tempo tone for Bibbs who wastes no time getting his point across. "People think I’m crazy, baby / For waiting on your line / I don’t mind the waiting, sugar / All I’ve got is time," he croons on the first verse to let his lady know that he's in no rush and is a patient man. He goes on to sing about that patience on the second verse. "Patience is a virtue, sweetie / So, let my virtue grow / Love is what I’m cultivating / So, please believe I know / Good things come / To those who wait / So waiting feels just fine," Jon sings. He is in it for the long haul, and unlike Bob Marley, we don't think that his waiting will be in vain.
"Love In Waiting" is just the first piece of new music that we will be hearing from Jon Bibbs who has more on the way. While we eagerly anticipate all else that he has in store, fans will be glad to know that they can hear him live at several upcoming performance dates.
