Syleena Johnson Is Every Woman In 'Freelance Lover'

Syleena Johnson might have had the best 2019 ever. The songstress has been showing off her fitness come-up on Instagram, she's still rocking it as one of the hosts of Sister Circle and she's readying her forthcoming album Woman to drop at the top of the year. What else can this woman do? Well, she adds another feather in her cap by making her directorial debut with the video for her new single "Freelance Lover."

She draws inspiration from the '70s series The Brady Bunch in the clip, with several different versions of her appearing in different sections of the screen. She plays every woman, from prim and proper to Bohemian spiritualist to sophisti-rachet 'round-the-way girl. Though they're all very different, they all seem to have the same problem: the same man is trying to love 'em and leave 'em. Syleena breaks it down in the song's lyrics, letting him know that he's nothing but a freelance lover wanting a taste of one and a bite of another. The hunky fella seems to be getting his way at first, but soon each version of Syleena wises up and sends him on his merry little way leaving us with a close up of the smiling diva before the screen fades to black.

While we've already heard Woman's title track and "Freelance Lover," we know that there's more in store where they came from. And we won't have to wait long, either, as the album is set to release via eOne Nashville on January 31st. Looks like 2020 might be the year of Syleena Johnson as well.
