Guordan Banks Shares Some Seasonal Soul On 'Christmas On The Vinyl' EP

Boosted by the favorable reception of lead single, "Can't Keep Running'," Guordan Banks proclaimed his sophomore album Blood On The Vinyl as the "hottest thing on the market" when it dropped this past October. Now the cosmic R&B sensation keeps the flame going with his first-ever holiday project, Christmas On The Vinyl.

As the title suggests, the Christon Mason-produced EP is an unofficial companion piece to his fall release. In fact, the two albums share a song called "Never Ends." The heartwarming tune – written as a tribute to his grandmother – originally served as album closer for Blood On The Vinyl, but provides a poignant opening for Christmas On The Vinyl. From there, Mr. Banks delivers enjoyable reworks of seasonal hymns like "Oh Holy Night" (featuring Phylicia "Philly" Hill), "Let Us Adore Him" (an update of "O Come All Ye Faithful") and "Silent Night 3000" (a modernized flip, featuring rapper A-Game). Another original tune, lovesick ballad "Christmas Without You," rounds out the set.
