Robin Thicke Sings Of Sweet Romance On 'When You Love Somebody'

Robin Thicke once again has love on the brain. While that's been the case for most of the singer-songwriter's career, it seems to ring especially true for this moment in his life. He's slowly but surely been making his way back to the music spotlight after booking a job as a judge on odd TV sensation The Masked Singer and dropping singles "Testify" in December and "What Love Can Do" this past March. Now he's at it again with lovey-dovey new track "When You Love Somebody."

As he is wont to do, Robin lays it on thick (we know) on the romance front. Dreamy guitar? Check. Heavenly strings? Yep. Lush backing vocals? But of course! Still, he manages to make what would usually be saccharine sound amazing with his effortless vocal and easy-going demeanor. The song finds him convincing his lady that he's most definitely hit by Cupid's arrow. "'Cause when you love somebody and need somebody / No need to fight it, so help me help you," he coaxes on the chorus. "Love somebody and need somebody / We'll be somebody so help me help you love." And when he asks if it all sounds like a sweet romance, all we can say is yes.

We're not exactly sure what's up next on the Robin Thicke front as it pertains to the eventual release of an album. Perhaps we'll have a more certain word when joins Fantasia as part of her upcoming Sketchbook Tour this fall. Until then, fall in love to the syrupy sweet sounds of "When You Love Somebody" below.
