Lorine Chia has been making some serious music moves in recent years. She has worked with Janelle Monáe, The Game and Jim Jones, to name a few; was chosen for the SoundCloud First campaign and premiered her single "Life Without A Dream" on an episode of Queen Sugar. The singer/songwriter/musician has been doing quite well for herself professionally as well as personally to hear her tell it on her new single "Needed." You see, she's fallen truly, madly, deeply in love with someone: Herself!
We get to see some of Lorine's love light in flight in the self-directed video for "Needed." She is all about practicing self-love and self-care, and she spends the day loving on herself in her cozy apartment. The visual opens with Ms. Chia waking to start her day with a throw pillow that reads "I Love You," which is both a message to herself and the viewer. From there, the scene cuts to her returning home from work and getting a delivery of champagne, whipped cream and strawberries. She has a hot date with me, myself and I and enjoys her own company as the camera follows her around her place and through various outfit changes. As she sings, "I am the one that you always needed," Lorine Chia exudes confidence, unadulterated joy and Black Girl Magic throughout the "Needed" video.
"I made this song as an ode to myself. I’m always so hard on me, and I woke up one day and realized that I am my deepest desires. I am my greatest love." Lorine has indeed found the greatest love of all and encourages everyone listening and watching to do the same.
