As he gears up to release his new project, DJ and multi-instrumentalist Ash Walker gifts fans with a visual depiction of the vivid array of sounds and colors he so masterfully portrays through his music. The Louis Hvejsel-Bork-directed video for “Finishing Touch,” the second single from the new album, is just as entrancing as the track itself, with its intoxicating bassline and singer Laville’s lush vocals. We watch as Ash navigates a strikingly surreal landscape, led only by his curiosity and creativity. Likely a metaphor for the freedom associated with a boundless imagination, his melody awakens a female wanderer who is then liberated and escapes to a presumably limitless future.
Ash’s forthcoming album is entitled Aquamarine, and though it will be his third LP, the album marks his first release on the UK’s Night Time Stories label. The project is described as "the take-off of an audial spaceship, a sound discovered in the grooves of thousands of records, united in one” and is sure to continue this type of sonic imagery, transporting listeners to a soothing escape. Upon first listen, both this latest release and the album’s lead single "Under the Sun" felt like a cleansing exhale and exuded the type of calm only conveyed through real good music. The wait is nearly over for the full project and we can't wait to hear more.
Watch the visual for Ash Walker’s “Finishing Touch,” and be sure to pre-order the full album Aquamarine from your favorite digital platform before its release on Friday, July 19th. SoulBouncers across the pond can grab tickets to a live performance of the project at a secret location in Central London on Saturday, July 20th, while fans stateside will have to catch a groove at home. Still, be sure to follow him on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and let's all cross our collective fingers in the hope that plans to promote the album include a U.S. run.
