Johnny Gill has been in the game for decades but still manages to make music that the people want to hear. Don't believe us? Well, the music vet is on the verge of releasing Game Changer II, the follow up to his successful 2014 set Game Changer. He also just landed his second-ever No. 1 on Billboard's Adult R&B Songs chart with the album's lead single "Soul Of A Woman." This would be the perfect time to strike while the iron is hot and release a video for the track, right? Johnny is one step ahead of us, actually. He just released the song's video and he's even upped the star power by booking current comedy it girl Tiffany Haddish to play his leading lady.
The clip starts with a familiar concept. Johnny plays the mega-famous music star who's got a major event. Sadly, his boo Tiffany can't make it out because she's also booked and busy for the night. Of course, she has nothing to worry about as far as any of the ladies in the audience catching his eye. Johnny even makes sure to let her know that he's coming straight home after he gets off stage. The rest of the video features the standard male R&B video shots. We see Johnny Gill doing his thing on the stage as a crowd full of ladies go crazy for his velvet vocals. The surprise comes in when he spots Tiffany standing in the crowd. In fact, he even brings his beloved onstage as he serenades her with the song.
Though this clip isn't really adding much when it comes to the spectacle of it all, we can't be mad at Johnny Gill for keeping things pretty traditional on the video tip. Let the crooner make you say "my, my, my" all over again when you watch "Soul Of A Woman" below.
