Amber Mark Wonders 'What If'

Just a couple of months following the release of her funk-filled track "Mixer," singer-songwriter-producer Amber Mark continues to carve her own lane amongst the sea of female R&B singers and we can’t get enough. This time, she returns with a sultry single entitled “What If” and sings of a destined love affair. Over a mellow tempo with an intoxicating bass line, she describes a love that has stood the test of time and weathered the storms. Her tone gives no hint of regret as she sings, “It had to happen exactly that way / I had to do it, had to make those mistakes / It’s true, 'cause it led me to you.”

The Renee Rodenkirchen-directed visual is just as captivating as the track with its kaleidoscope images and tasteful, yet seductive capture of the New York-based beauty. Whether adorned in a satin gown draped across a bed or engaged a sweet embrace sporting a lacy bralette and jeans, Amber remains the focal point as she passionately sings of a love that has endured. She describes the track as her “most cherished song” and says, “It deals with going through heartbreak and the realization of amazing opportunities you gain & learn from the dark times in your life. I hope you all love this song as much as I do."

While there’s no word on whether the release of these gems is part of the roll-out for a new EP or album, SoulBouncers across the pond can catch her live as she headlines her own tour across Europe. She kicks things off in Berlin next month, before heading to Amsterdam, Paris and Manchester. It all wraps up in London on July 9th for her biggest show to date at Scala. No need to hate Stateside, as Amber is set to leave her "mark" at this year’s Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago, July 19-21st.
