Madison McFerrin Goes 'Insane' On This ARKTKT Remix

It's been said that "insanity" is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. We usually agree with the sentiment, but Madison McFerrin may have unwittingly revealed a flaw in this logic. It's been over a year since we first heard her slow jam "Insane," yet somehow, it seems to get better and better with each listen. In fact, it's hard not to lose all concept of space and time once her sultry harmonies melt into the auricle. The song's visuals further enhance the allure, making it a standout cut from her stellar EP Finding Foundations: Vol II.

If you can't tell, we think "Insane" is perfection, plain and simple. So we were quite intrigued when we learned that Ms. McFerrin re-teamed with her Dark Matter partner ARKTKT to create an alternate take for her forthcoming project Finding Foundations: THE REMIXES. The producer maintains the bedroom vibe of the “soul-cappella” tune, but ups the head-nod factor with the addition of sweaty beats, percussive effects and wavy keys. It's ridiculously good and just as addictive as the original.

Stream "Insane (ARKTKT Remix)" below then head to SoundCloud for an advance listen of Finding Foundations: THE REMIXES, available for download this Friday, May 10th, on all major platforms. The project highlights select tracks from Finding Foundations Vol I and Vol II, featuring remixes by Photay, Zenizen, Low Noon and Canteen Killa. Madison says that additional flips will be dropping as bonus tracks after the album premiere, so stay tuned to her Twitter and Instagram feeds for new music and tour updates as well.
