There have been rumors that Corinne Bailey Rae might be in the process of creating a new album, which would be the follow-up to her lovely 2016 set The Heart Speaks In Whispers. But before she gets into the new, the talented singer-songwriter revisits her most recent project with an unexpected video for "Do You Ever Think Of Me," the emotional heart of the album.
The song itself channels the old school soul of songwriters of the '60s and '70s (which is fitting since it's co-written by Valerie Simpson and shares some musical DNA with Curtis Mayfield's "The Makings Of You"). Corinne keeps it old school with the visual as well. Instead of giving us a traditional performance video, the singer opts to showcase a set of breathtaking Polaroid snapshots from what looks like one of the best days one could possibly have in New York City. We're treated to fabulous shots a smiling and happy Corinne as she goes about her day, her windswept head of curls framed by sunlight. We're also shown snaps of her sipping wine and vibing with nature as her day progresses. All the while, the guitar-driven soul of the track and her voice are there to provide an intoxicating soundtrack.
We're not sure where Corinne Bailey Rae may be heading in her musical future but we're definitely happy that she decided to remind of her last album's best moments with this lovely clip. Revel in spring and say hello to the coming summer by watching the clip for "Do You Ever Think Of Me" below.
