Syleena Johnson is all about empowering and uplifting women on her new song "Woman." She carries that theme over into the newly released visual for the anthemic track.
The "Woman" video begins with Syleena dressed in all black like a member of the Black Panther Party with her hair in long cornrow braids. She's surrounded by her lady gang comprised of similarly dressed black women of all shapes and shades, and they all look like they mean business. Syleena leads the pack while one of her girls assists her with her coat and the singer adds a beaded ankh necklace and a beret on her head to complete her look. The ladies strut down the street while the song plays, and Johnson stops to sing some of the poignant lyrics. Their strutting leads them to a rally with even women present holding statement signs and their fists in the air while Syleena drops her knowledge into the mic. In subsequent scenes, the statuesque singer glams it up a bit more in a chic white outfit with big curly hair cascading around her shoulders. Her look may change, but her message encouraging women doesn't.
"Woman" is the lead single and title track from Syleena Johnson's upcoming 11th studio album. There's no solid release date yet, but look out for Woman to be released sometime this summer.
