AFROPUNK Brooklyn 2019 To Feature Jill Scott, Leon Bridges, Kamasi Washington, Gary Clark Jr. & More

Once a small festival in Brooklyn, AFROPUNK has ballooned into what can be called a movement. Though it now has festivals all over the world, Brooklyn will always be its home and the festival will return this August to the borough's Commodore Barry Park for what is sure to be another year to remember — and they've procured quite the list of talent to take the stage.

Headlining this year's edition are Jill Scott, Leon Bridges, Gary Clark Jr., Kamasi WashingtonLianne La HavasToro Y MoiSantigoldGoldLinkNAO, FKA twigsDeath Grips and Danny Brown. Those names alone are worth the price of admission, but they're not the only invited guests that will rock the crowd. Many more of our faves — including Leikeli47, The SuffersTank And The Bangas and Masego — will also be on hand to bring the heat and the vibes during the two-day event. Music won't be the only thing going down at the festival, though. The festival will once again feature the SpinThrift Market, which will showcase vendors in the AFROPUNK community selling jewelry, apparel, books and other wares. The weekend will also include live installments of AFROPUNK's Solution Sessions podcast on August 23rd and August 24th featuring notable movers and organizers in the activism sphere.

Tickets for AFROPUNK Brooklyn 2019, which will go down August 24 and August 25th, are on sale now and can be purchased via the AFROPUNK site. They are also once again offering the option of earning a ticket to the festival by becoming a member of the AFROPUNK Army and volunteering your time and effort. Either way you get in, it's guaranteed to be another hot time in Brooklyn. Check out the full lineup in the flyer below.
