Samm Henshaw Goes For 'Broke' & Takes Vevo DSCVR To 'Church'

Vevo DSCVR has been snagging all the hottest up-and-comers to give them exclusive performances. When we last checked in, the Bounce-Worthy Lucky Daye came through to show and prove with two songs from his debut EP. Now it's fellow Bounce-Worthy alum Samm Henshaw's turn to show you what he can do. The singer and rapper, who burst back on to our radar with his soulful jam "Church," gave a performance of the single along with his track "Broke" for DSCVR and shut everything down in the process.

Samm and his four-piece band rocked through a rousing rendition of "Church" that had us feeling the spirit. Starting things off with a handclap, he stood flatfooted at center stage as the camera caught every angle as he channeled his past experiences in the sanctuary. He was without an actual choir or collaborators EARTHGANG but he most definitely wasn't lacking for energy, even cutting a few steps before the performance came to a close. For "Broke," the same setup was reprised as the raspy-voiced Mr. Henshaw served up his lament about empty pockets with self-assured soul. Sure, this performance wasn't quite as kinetic as the one for "Church," but the energy matched the song's soulful swing and tapped into the feeling of the lyrics with charm.

Whether you've been riding with Samm Henshaw or you've just discovered the young talent, you definitely don't want to miss these two performances. Luckily, you can catch both below.
