Unless you've been living under a soundproof rock, you already know by now that PJ Morton's Christmas with PJ Morton is a whole mood. A mix of gospel, soul, pop, jazz and New Orleans bounce, the 8-track holiday album can please even the Scroogiest grinch in your crew. While the album stays in heavy rotation for the next few weeks (and probably beyond), PJ is also dropping some visuals as well.
Last month, we saw him team up with Stokely in the studio for a soulful redux of Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You." Now he returns to our small screens to deliver his NOLA-inspired take on Donny Hathaway's quintessential holiday classic, "This Christmas." Featured artist HaSizzle – full of Christmas cheer in his "Buddy the Elf" costume – uses his trademark "Voice of Bounce" to get the party started. Everyone is having a rump-shaking good time and you can feel the love through the screen. It's all about food, fun, friends and family (PJ's wife, Kortni Morton and their three children are all present), reminding us of what matters most during the holidays.
Speaking of the holidays, before PJ Morton fulfills his "I'll Be Home For Christmas" promise, he'll be hitting the road once again with A Gumbo Christmas Tour, starting December 16th. Barely a week after he wraps his More Gumbo Tour, the brief run will take him to Atlanta, Los Angeles, Dallas and Brooklyn.
