NAO & 6LACK Take Us On A Romantic Journey On 'If You Ever'

We're just days away from the release of NAO's new album Saturn. The hotly anticipated set has been the talk of the town thanks to the singer's constant release of quality singles, including her SiR duet "Make It Out Alive" and lead single "Another Lifetime." She's not quite done enchanting us, though, opting to drop another track from the project with the release of her newest single "If You Ever."

The song, a duet with 6LACK, shows that the two have more in common than stylized mononyms. They find middle ground over the song's production, which combines R&B with a few dashes of Brazilian funk for a mid-tempo stunner. The skipping drums, strings and swirling synths create a romantic rhythm that frames the track's story. NAO kicks things off while singing to a lover that it's time to take that risk and move together in love. Sensing his trepidation, she sings on the chorus, "Would you fly with me? / Change your mind for me? / If you find you ever change your mind / Would you like to go with me?" Answering her call is 6LACK, who offers up his thoughts in a rap-sung verse that has a conversational quality to it. He soon joins her in singing on the chorus, though, his grounded lower register a perfect balance to NAO's sweet, soaring notes.

So far, NAO has been bringing it in the lead up to Saturn, which leads us to think this will be a welcome return. We'll find out when the full set drops on October 26th. Listen to "If You Ever" below.
