Cherokee Looks Like A Fierce 'Goddess' In Her Latest Video

Whether channeling African Orishas, Native American deities, present-day bawses or futuristic divas, women artists who embrace their inner queen are always welcome on our playlists and our screens. We especially have a soft spot (or, more accurately, a "YAAASSS") for those who dare to challenge patriarchal notions of equality, sexuality and women's rights in general. That's why when we first heard Cherokee's long overdue studio return, "Goddess," we were all the way here for it.

The sassy, sultry, tune is all about taking charge – in life and in the bedroom. Now the Brooklyn-based singer hooks us even further with captivating visuals directed by Rashidi Harper and Sequoia Emmanuelle. Although she proclaims she can "drop it like a goddess,” don't expect to see "nothing trashy" here. As she sings and raps, Cherokee keeps it "sexy and sassy" throughout, with a royally funky wardrobe, bold accessories and sauciness for days. We're glad to have her back and can't wait for that new EP to drop. In the meantime, peep the visuals below, download "Goddess" via iTunes and visit her website for updates.
