Ari Lennox dropped her latest single "Whipped Cream" to the masses back in July, and now she's serving us a stripped-down version to end the summer. In a new acoustic video, the singer/songwriter sits atop a tree stump wearing a t-shirt and jeans and starts catching the vibe along with guitarist Joe Endozo from HOT FUN. Closing her eyes with passion, she effortlessly belts out the single as a French bulldog at her feet also gets in the groove.
Lennox fills the bright studio with her voice, demonstrating her raw talent as she sings about her ex and her achy breaky heart. At the end of the track, she ad-libs and sings sweetly to round out a warm and vulnerable performance. As she hits her final high notes, her furry friend returns to give her props and she ends up chuckling to conclude.
The Dreamville songstress is putting the finishing touches on her anticipated debut album, to include production from J. Cole, Masego and more. While we wait for the new album to surface, we may just be sitting here watching this performance on repeat. If you're like us and you can't get enough of Ari Lennox's "Whipped Cream," you can get it from your favorite digital retailer now and watch the acoustic version of the sweet little ditty right here.
