Michelle Williams Checks Into Mental Health Facility
There's no shame in experiencing struggles with mental health issues, as Destiny's Child member Michelle Williams will be the first to tell you. The singer, who's been very open and honest about her battle with depression, checked into a mental health facility this week. Rather than let the gossip sites speculate about what was going on with her, she took to Twitter to set things straight. "For years I have dedicated myself to increasing awareness of mental health and empowering people to recognize when it’s time to seek help, support and guidance from those that love and care for your wellbeing," she wrote in a note on the site. The note intimated that she was seeking help from healthcare professionals for treatment before she pledged to continue to be an example for those also suffering, with her concluding, "Today I proudly, happily and healthily stand here as someone who will continue to always lead by example as I tirelessly advocate for the betterment of those in need." #ItsOKToNotBeOK
