We were quite impressed last month when Raheem DeVaughn dropped his new single "Don't Come Easy" among a steady stream of other output from the singer. But as hectic as his schedule has been as of late, the song itself was more of the smooth and sexy R&B that the singer has been giving us since his arrival on the music scene. Now Mr. DeVaughn is putting that feel into visual form with the song's hotly anticipated video.
The song, about the work that goes into keeping a relationship on course, is full of romance aided by a simmering slow burn of a groove. The visual plays that up with Raheem and his leading lady in several intimate scenes. And while sexual energy is most definitely suggested here, it's not shown in an overly explicit matter, instead opting to hint with smoldering looks and longing stares. The clip also interestingly suggests that the twosome might have special powers, with telekinetic happenings going on throughout the clip and literal sparks flying when they come together in certain scenes. Could Raheem be suggesting that love is a superpower in its own right? Quite possibly.
"Don't Come Easy" comes ahead of Raheem DeVaughn's upcoming sixth album Decade Of A Love King, which should arrive sometime later this year. Check out the song's steamy, passionate video below.
