Denitia Packs A Lot Into Her 'Day'

Denitia Odigie is a rare breed of musician – talented and versatile enough to be a member of several different groups (over the years); tailoring her vocals to blend seamlessly with her collaborators without ever sacrificing the uniqueness of her sound. But as solo act denitia, we get a concentrated dose of aural sublimity that makes us appreciate her all the more.

So far this year, she's given us lots to be thankful for with tracks like "Special," "Never Told You" and "Reach Me." And now that she's dropped a new song entitled "One Day," we're convinced that a follow-up to her 2017 Ceilings EP may be coming sooner than we think. In the meantime, we're perfectly content to enjoy the occasional loosie here and there. Especially when it sounds this good.

Over wavy synth and bangin' percussion, denitia's vocals are pure sunshine; warm, bright and joy-inducing. Her tone is particularly effective as she encourages us to live in the moment and make the most of life. She further explains the song's theme in a recent interview with The Line of Best Fit: "...What if we decided that time didn't own us or owe us. Wrap our arms around our ideas, our beloveds... don't save it for later. What if we decided we could do anything and it doesn't matter what we did or didn't do before be it right on time, or much too late. We aren't beholden to time, only to ourselves. Just grab the moment and be in it. One day never comes..."
