We are mere days away from the release of Janelle Monáe's latest opus, Dirty Computer. In the lead up to the project, the singer/songwriter/bad ass has fed fans a steady diet of new audio and video over the past couple months. So far, she's gotten us open – and tongues wagging – with "Make Me Feel," "Django Jane," "Pynk" and her latest single "I Like That." She continues to stoke the fires of anticipation for Dirty Computer and its accompanying emotion picture by dropping the visual for "I Like That" taken from the art piece.
"I Like That" details Janelle loving the skin she's in and the "walking contradiction" that she is. "A little crazy, little sexy, little cool / Little rough around the edges, but I keep it smooth," she sings before sharing that she is all out of effs to give on the chorus. She breaks it down further on the bridge about overcoming being bullied and belittled as a youth to flying above her haters now.
Miss Monáe brings that confidence and daring to the "I Like That" visual where she flaunts numerous stunning looks. She briefly returns to her signature black-and-white wardrobe where we see multiple Janelles in a theater before shedding her clothes altogether to take a milk bath surrounded by two pink flamingoes. She changes her outfits and hair throughout the clip to illustrate various aspects of her personality to match the very personal song.
Fans who want to get up close and personal with Janelle will get their chance this summer when she embarks on the Dirty Computer Tour. Janelle is taking fellow Wondaland Records artists St. Beauty with her on what is to be a must-attend concert tour.
