GNA Wants To 'Sock It To' You With Her Missy Elliott Tribute

Toronto-bred songstress GNA (aka Gina Lee) is back with another cover taking us back to the '90s. Last time she channeled Brandy with her rendition of "I Wanna Be Down," and now she's paying tribute to Missy Elliott in her version of "Sock It 2 Me." Staying true to the original, GNA infuses her smooth, youthful delivery into her "Sock It To Me" that ironically gives us some Aaliyah tease. While the cover is less quirky than Missy's OG track, the video uses animated graphics to give the visuals a whimsical flavor. GNA takes her time flexing on the track, rocking Brandy-ish braids, Aaliyah-esque dance moves and Missy-lite vibes with her unique style.

About paying homage to Misdemeanor, GNA says "Other than the fact that Missy is one of my favorite artists on this planet,  I've always admired her innovation and the fact that she's unapologetically fly! This is just a way of me paying homage to her greatness."
