Snapchat Loses $800 Million In Value After Rihanna Criticizes Offensive Ad

Talk about tacky and tasteless. Snapchat caught flak this week when the company ran an add on its app that made light of the 2009 domestic violence incident that occurred between Rihanna and Chris Brown. The ad, for mobile game Would You Rather?, asked users whether or not they'd "Slap Rihanna" or "Punch Chris Brown." Needless to say, it didn't go over well with fans nor did it sit too well with Rih herself. "Now SNAPCHAT I know you already know you ain't my fav app out there!" she wrote in an Instagram story. "But I'm just trying to figure out what the point was with this mess! I'd love to call it ignorance but I know you ain't that dumb. You spent money to animate something that would intentionally bring shame to DV victims and made a joke of it." Though the company has issued an apology in the matter, Rih's criticism caused the company's stock to dip 4 percent, costing them $800 million in value. Ouch. #DontF**kWithRihanna
